Department of engineering geology, hydrogeology, geotechnics and water concessions is specialized in the production of engineering-geological and hydrogeological maps of different scales and purposes. Some of the most important development projects are Basic engineering-geological map of Montenegro, 1: 100.000 and Basic hydrogeological map of Montenegro, 1: 100.000. In this sector, numerous studies and reports for different objects and purposes were produced, like: water supply, spatial and urban planning, design for the construction of infrastructure facilities, rehabilitation occurrence of instability of the terrain, the design of individual buildings of different types and purposes, hydrogeological and design of hydraulic structures, etc.
The results of this Sector include:
- Basic hydrogeological map of Montenegro, 1: 100.000. This project is ongoing, and so far have printed maps and interpreters for sheets Bar and Ulcinj. Studies have been completed and maps and interpreters were made for sheets: Titograd, Kotor, Budva, Niksic, Pljevlja, Zabljak and Ivangrad. We are currently implementing research on sheets Savnik and Gacko.

- Hydrogeological map of the Skadar Lake, 1: 100.000, manuscript.
- Hydrogeological map of the rivers Piva, Tara and Cehotina, Lim and Ibar, in the scale of 1: 100.000, manuscript.
Also, the activity of this Sector includes the production of numerous projects, studies and reports for the water supply of cities and settlements, studies on the protection of groundwater, for the construction of hydropower plants, the exploration of mineral and thermal waters and others.
